Main Street Marion has a strong and active board. Our Board at-large works to develop marketing strategies, build a strong network for the community, enhance the downtown image, and develop retail promotions and special events.

Committee Chairs
Design Committee
The design committee works to create visual improvements of the downtown through good design compatible with historic features including building rehabilitation and also streetscapes, window displays, parking areas, signs, sidewalks, public areas, and landscaping.
Clean-up Committee
The Clean-up Downtown Committee is a sub-committee of design formed to focus planning, organizing, and implementing successful clean-up’s each year.
Downtown Toolbox
The downtown toolbox is a new committee at Main Street Marion. The committee members work to strengthen and broaden the existing economic base of the downtown. Activities include helping existing businesses to expand, converting unused space into productive property and sharpening the competitiveness of downtown merchants.
Organization Committee
In many ways, the organization committee is the matrix of Main Street Marion. This committee keeps the Board organized, develops the organization’s fundraisers and budgets, and nominates new Board members. This organization committee also is responsible for recruiting new volunteers.
Promotions Committee
The Promotions Committee creates a positive image of the business district to attract customers and investors, and rekindle community pride. Promotion includes the development of sophisticated events and festivals, and the creation of a consistent image through graphic and media presentations. Promotion also includes target “selling” of the district to investors, developers and new businesses. A fundamental part of this committee is to promote community and organizations’ involvement within the downtown program area.
Festival Committee
The Festival Committee is a sub-committee of promotions formed to focus planning, organizing, and implementing successful First Friday Festival’s each year.
Hog Daze Committee
The Hog Daze Committee is a sub-committee of promotions formed to focus planning, organizing, and implementing our annual Hog Daze Motorcycle Rally.
